How long does the training take?

There’s a lot of content to go through (both text & video), so it really depends on the pace of the person. We have seen people go through it all in an hour or two per module and then come back to reference materials. We also have people that stretch it out over weeks or months. Some users like to apply their learning to the various elements (IE: dialing in a grinder) while taking the course. It really depends on your pace and learning patterns!

How does the monthly billing work?

Online Barista Training is a subscription service! Each month additional content is added, webinars are conducted, and the retailer level gives your employees continuous access. Once you have signed up for an account, the credit card provided is automatically billed.

What should I do if my card expires?

If you see that your credit card is going to expired or already has, email [email protected] with the updated information and we will update your account.

How do I cancel my online membership?

To cancel your account for Online Barista Training, you simply have to:

    Log in to your account
    Click “My Account.”
    Scroll to the bottom of the page and hit the button which reads, “Cancel/Close Account.”
    If you have any issues, please email your request with date of cancellation to [email protected]

How do I update my account information?

To update your account information:

    Log in to your account
    Click “My Account.” in the top-right corner of the page
    Click “Edit personal information” in the Personal Information section of your account page.
    Make any changes and click “Save Changes”

What are cookies and how do I know if they are enabled?

Cookies are small pieces of information stored in your browser that allow our websites to verify your account information and sign you into our site. You can test your cookies and find information for enabling them in your preferred browser by clicking here.

Can I log into from any computer with my username and password, or am I limited to a single computer?

Yes, you can log in to the online library from any internet-connected computer. However, you can only be logged into one computer at a time.

What is the difference between the barista training modules and additional content?

The barista training modules are the base training platform to gain a complete understanding of what it takes to be a barista. The additional content is always available for employees and business owners to learn more about the coffee industry as well as advanced barista techniques.

Why does the streaming movie keep pausing?

This is a bug that has the following fix: If you pause the movie and wait for more (or all) of it to download before you resume playing, it will play without stopping. You can tell how much of the movie has downloaded by looking at the controller bar at the bottom of the window. You will see the bar fill in with gray, from left to right, as the movie downloads. Once the controller bar is completely filled in with gray, the movie has finished downloading.

How do I change my password?

In your dashboard, click on the “My Account” tab at the top navigation. In the fields on this page, you will see a place that says “Password” and “Repeat Password”. Type in your desired new password in those two fields and click the Update Profile button below. A message will appear to indicate that your account is updated.

I can’t remember my username, what should I do?

If you cannot remember your username click on the dashboard on the homepage and you will be directed to log in using your credentials. Below you will see “Lost your password?” Click on the link and input your email associated with your account. An email will then be sent to you with your username. If you want to change your password as well go through the steps, otherwise ignore the email and your password will stay the same.

How do I view or print my and my employee’s certificates of completion?

If you have a retail account, when an employee finishes their course with a passing score, an email will be sent to you with the certificate. Print off the certificate and present to your employee. If you yourself are taking the barista training course, a certificate of completion will be sent to your email.

What is the certificate of completion program?

The Certificates of completion program is an incentive that rewards members for watching all of the foundational training modules on Upon completion of all modules, a certificate is automatically generated that is viewable online, downloadable, or can be emailed to anyone the member wants. suggests that members print their certificates and hang in their coffee bar or attach to their resume.

How does this compare to an online degree or a certificate from a vocational school or vendor?

The Certificates of completion program is not the same as a degree program or a government certification program, and it is very important that it is not confused with such. For example, training programs that companies have for their own products or equipment are not the same as the program. Completing a course does not mean that the member is then certified, it only reflects that they completed the course on
