Sample Lesson 1: Introduction to Module

Before we can get started, we should get to know the landscape of our working area. The Barista workstation is composed of different equipment with unique names and a diverse history. Baristas are expected to be experts of their craft and the first step is learning to necessary vocabulary. In this module you’ll learn about the tools of the trade with a basic introduction to the workstation and typical equipment used in preparation. Success in espresso preparation takes organization; knowledge of the workings of espresso machine, espresso grinder, and related small-wares; and an understanding of how to keep things clean and maintained behind the bar.
